[Review] 3W Clinic 100% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

Price: HKD$30
~~
Weight: 300g

So I received this tub of aloe vera gel thanks to my mother who bought this from her local pharmacy. At an extremely low price, especially considering the amount of product you get. So yes, this product is very affordable. Yep, aloe vera gel is available in many places in Hong Kong since it seems to be the latest craze. During the recent years, aloe vera gel has been wildly popular throughout the whole of Asia due to Korean actresses and idols promoting this product. I believe the Nature Republic 92% pure aloe vera gel was the original product which stimulated the popularity of aloe products. This particular brand, CW Clinic prides itself on the '4 free' qualifications of this product. No parabens, no artificial colouring, no mineral oil and no benzophenone. This product comes in a semi-transparent circular green container which has a lid which can be screwed on and off easily. It's easy to pick up product, but also quite unhygenic as it's sold in a tub form which means it's easier for baacteria to enter.

The packaging is nice overall, with a mid green colour which definately relates to the aloe vera plant. On the lid, there is an image of some aloe vera and also the logo and some inforamtion. On the backside of the green tub, which is quite considerable in size due to the whopping three hundred grams of product, there are details regarding the product. This includes the expiry date, weight and ingredients list. Unfortunately, I cannot decipher most of this information as I do not understand Hangul. Nonetheless, I suppose it would be useful for someone who can read Korean.

After unscrewing the lid, you will find a clear plastic separator, presumably to ensure hygiene? Somewhat unfortunately, this product doesn't come with a spatula so you'll have to either use your fingers, or if the thought of dipping your fingers into fresh product horrifies you as you are a hygiene freak, you can always simply purchase or use another spatula.

The gel itself is clear and has a consistency that is neither viscous nor runny. Oh by the way: this gel can be applied anywhere on the body, be it face, arms or legs. Personally, since there is such a large amount of product, I use this gel after showering, and apply it all over my body and face too. The texture is smooth and hence, the product slides onto skin with ease. After application, there is a slight cooling effect which really calms the skin. This aloe vera gel absorbs into the skin within a minute or two and feels very hydrating. As it's so lightweight, this gel is nice to use in the summer as it doesn't clog pores and the cooling sensation of the aloe vera just feels amazing on hot and sweaty skin.

Furthermore, this product can be used in many different ways: as a moisturiser, body lotion, facial mask, aftershave gel, primer and hair mask. For sure, it's a very versatile product which soothes and moisturises my skin, and overall, this product is very hard to fault. Also, I think this product will be suitable for all skin types, especially those with sensitive or oily skin as it's so lightweight and skin friendly. I will definitely repurchase this aloe vera gel next time I am in Asia!
